This is Me
I was born on a Thursday at 9:47 in the morning-2 weeks after my due date. In fact, my Grammy had been in town so long she needed to go home and only saw me from the hospital's nursery window!
Not remembering my first moments myself, I've been told I was, well, communicative from my first breath.
My parents had moved around a lot with the U.S. Navy. By the time I was born, however, we mostly lived in Rhode Island and Maine.
Navy & Beyond
When I was 7, my Pop got out of the Navy and we moved to be near Mom's family in Northwestern Pennsylvania. In other words, we went from LOTS of winter to MARGINALLY less winter.
My childhood up the dirt road from my grandparents was a happy one, spending my summers picking wild berries and wandering through the woods. I graduated from Grove City College just north of Pittsburgh, with a BA in Political Science, concen- tration in Communications.

I've been a writer for, well, ever since I can remember. Starting with childhood stories. Then high school journalism. Editing my college roommate's papers (still maintain I helped her with that 4.0--not bitter, though!) and writing for GCC's newspaper.
Policy papers, weekly radio show copy and even an entry in the Congressional Record while doing internships in DC. Fiction, essays, stints as an editor and 10 years of magazine writing.
I chanced upon an email from AWAI (American Writers and Artists, Inc.) The fact that I clicked, read the entire sales page and purchased the following day--well, that says everything about them being the best in the copywriting business.
Copywriting came to me at just the right moment. I'd gotten divorced and moved to Raleigh, NC. A new start. Finding the creative life I really wanted and going for it. Not being constrained by location like a 9 to 5 job.
